At Chesters Nursery School we follow two curriculums, Pre-birth to Three and the Curriculum for Excellence 3-18.
Staff use these curriculums to plan, create and implement learning opportunities for all children dependent on their age and stage.
The Pre-birth to three curriculum consists of four key principles which are:
- Rights of the child
- Respect
- Relationships
- Responsive care
The Curriculum for Excellence is broken down into four capacities which are:
- Successful learners
- Confident Individuals
- Responsible Citizens
- Effective Contributors
Glasgow City Council aim to close the attainment gap, therefore our Lead Practitioner of Attainment works alongside staff to incorperate literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing into all our playrooms and curricular planning.
